Music Master Tour and Performance

The Music Master Tour is a unique experience to tour the workshop of a master craftsman luthier, the last of his kind, making the traditional Neapolitan violin. The handmade violins, violas, and cellos use the antique forms and formulas unchanged since the early 1700’s.

The workshop is situated in his home in downtown Salerno. Along with the forms and tools passed down from his maestro, the luthier has also accumulated a small collection of antique and exceptionally rare instruments that can be seen on display in the salon facing the piano room. However, the master is not the only musically gifted talent in his family…

A live performance

Isabella sings Malafemmena

On this exclusive and unique tour, his lovely daughter will not only provide the English translations needed for your visit, she will sing with her mother giving a short private performance of your choosing from classical or traditional style music on the baby grand piano during a home concert, a tradition enjoyed by the elite families of Salerno. After the tour and recital, you’ll also enjoy a drink and light snack aperitivo on the rooftop terrace overlooking the gulf.

The perfect add-on option

This one of a kind touring option is a rare opportunity to see inside of a master craftsman’s home workshop and to hear a private performance as it is sometimes enjoyed by the more affluent locals. It could be the perfect way to end a private guided tour of Salerno or as a pre-dinner event as this experience takes just about 1.5 hours. The location is especially ideal during the holiday season when people from all over Europe come to visit the Luci d’Artisti holiday lights spectacle that has become a great attraction during the holiday season.
